THEMA

Arno Böhler/Susanne Valerie Granzer/Adam Loughnane/Graham Parkes

Kunst und Philosophie im Zwischen der Kulturen.

Ein Emailgespräch

The authors of this article analyse the connection of philosophy and art as disciplines in the form of an email correspondence. Through this exchange they propose the idea that arts-based-philosophy is to be understood as a philosophy that utilises artistic practices to engage in a new sensitive way of thinking. To exemplify their undertaking, they draw examples from philosophical practices of Indian, Chinese, and Japanese philosophy. [HJ]

Georg Stenger

Vom Zum-Tanzen-Kommen des Tanzes

How could dance reinforce the intercultural dialogue? Georg Stenger uses this question to articulate the importance and potential of dance as an intercultural endorser. He systematically explores the multidimensional configurations that constitute dance to show that dance addresses the physical and spiritual elements of various cultural worlds – and thereby allows these cultural worlds to connect on a deeper level. Christoph Hubatschke

Für eine »Grammatik der stotternden Stille«

Interkulturelle politische Kunst zwischen Immobilität und Bewegungen

In his article, Christoph Hubatschke argues that art and revolution are not only in a constant state of interaction but also inspire each other. For this argument, he presents three figures that emerged through artistic performances in the context of social movements and fights. He goes to show that these figures offer resistance while also being open with the aim of ruling out as little as possible. [HJ]

Sandra Noeth

Den Körper zur Verfügung stellen

Entwürfe eines Kunst-Handelns in Libanon und Palästina

This article focuses on an assortment of artworks that arose from the examination of the situation in Lebanon and Palestine. Sandra Noeth presents an interpretation of these artworks as unique reflections, documents, and fictions on the relationship between art, politics, and society, and as proposals for an artistic practice that places the body at the center. For the author, the experiential nature, performativity, and mediality of a body mean participating in a shared space, experiencing coexistence, and being together, rather than promoting participation in preconceived narratives. [HJ]
